Everyone wants to lower their cost for car insurance, and most people think it's so complicated.  Well, it's not.  In fact, inside of 60 minutes I'm positive you could check all the rates you'd need to & insure you're getting the lowest rate possible for you car insurance.

What's the fasest way to get car insurance quotes?

The internet of course.  Places like progressive.com & Gieco.com make it quick and simple to check rates.  In about 10-12 minutes at either of those sites you can get an accurate rate.  Maybe even quicker if you're using the autofill feature on the Google Toolbar.  The autofill feature makes it so you put in all your personal info once, and then every time you're at a data fill page you can click the autofill button and it will fill everything out for you.  I absolutely love it!

Keep in mind that not all insurance coverage is created equal

Make sure you read the fine print.  Some insurance providers will give you very low limits on accident medical coverage and options like that.  They do this to make the rate lower, but make sure you know all the details.  If you have a fairly new car you need to make sure that glass is covered, and also make sure that the total loss coverage would cover the replacement cost on your car.

A good tip: If you insure your car at the same place as you do other insurance policies you may get a good discount

That's right; if you insure your car with the same company that does your other insurance policies you may get a big break on your premium.  I have my home, life, and auto insurance all through State Farm and by having them bundled together I get some pretty good discounts on the automobile insurance.

Don't forget the little guy!

If you are using a local agent, I would give them a chance to meet or beat any rate you find online.  Most insurance agents are good people, and they are willing to do what they can for you.  In many cases, they'll even go over the fine print with you to make sure the new insurance plan you are considering is what you're expecting it to be.  Don't forget the little guy!
